This policy explains what personal data Move2IOM collects when you use this website or get in touch, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. Move2IOM is a sole-trader relocation, immigration and tax advisory business operating on the Isle of Man, and is the data controller for the purposes of this policy.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us directly — name, email address and phone number — when you fill in the contact form, book a call, download our guide, or message us on WhatsApp or by email
- The content of any message, form submission or enquiry you send us
- Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter
- Booking details (name, email, and the time you select) when you book a call through our Calendly scheduling tool
- Standard website usage data — pages visited, browser type, and approximate location from your IP address — collected via our hosting provider’s analytics
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the relocation, immigration or tax guidance you’ve asked for
- To schedule and manage calls you book with us
- To send you our newsletter, free guide, or other content you’ve requested — only where you’ve opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it
We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Who else sees your data
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run this website, our booking process and our advertising, each of which processes data on our behalf: Calendly (call bookings), WordPress.com/Automattic (website hosting, forms, statistics and newsletter delivery), WhatsApp/Meta (if you choose to message us via WhatsApp — this is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy once you leave our site), and Google Ads (Google LLC), which we use to measure the performance of our advertising and, where you’ve consented, for remarketing. We only use providers who give appropriate safeguards for personal data.
Cookies
This site uses essential cookies needed for basic functionality, and analytics cookies (via our hosting provider’s statistics tools) to understand visitor numbers and improve the site. We also use Google Ads cookies to measure the performance of our advertising and to build remarketing audiences — these are only set once you’ve accepted them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. If commenting is enabled on a blog post and you leave a comment, a cookie may be used to remember your details for next time.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and contact data only as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable follow-up period, or for as long as required to meet legal or accounting obligations if you become a client. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the Isle of Man’s Data Protection Act 2018 and the applied GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections, request erasure, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it. You also have the right to complain to the Isle of Man’s Information Commissioner at inforights.im if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.
